The Gold Coast Light Rail is Queensland’s first and only light rail system. Since opening in 2014, it has become a vital part of the Gold Coast’s public transport network.
Current Network (2026):
- 19 stations stretching ~20 km from Helensvale to Broadbeach South
- Flat fare of 50 cents per journey
- Frequent service (every 7–10 minutes in peak)
- 24-hour service on weekends
- Modern, air-conditioned trams with free Wi-Fi
Stage 3 Extension (opening mid-2026) will add 8 new stations and extend the line to Burleigh Heads.
