Thanks to Queensland’s permanent 50 cent flat fares, every trip on the Gold Coast Light Rail now costs only 50 cents — no matter how many stops or zones you travel.

Network & Route
Current Network (Stages 1 & 2):
- 20 km long
- 19 stations from Helensvale (train connection) to Broadbeach South
Stage 3 Extension (Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads):
- 6.7 km extension
- 8 new stations
- Expected to open for passengers in mid-2026
- Will bring the total network to 27 km and 27 stations
Stage 4 (Burleigh Heads to Coolangatta) was cancelled in September 2025. The focus is now on improved bus services in that corridor.
